Description

MacNFS is a client implementation of the NFS architecture and is designed specifically for the Macintosh. Thursby Software Systems, Inc. (TSS)
created MacNFS so the NFS mounted volume would function like a local disk. The product has been tested extensively with many Macintosh applications,
and multiple UNIX NFS server implementations.
Macintosh users can now share information with multiple vendored UNIX machines without leaving the convenience and familiarity of their Macintosh
desktop. MacNFS is also as easy to use as AppleShare. TSS built the product so the standard interface would default many of the options.
This avoids user confusion and allows easy operations.

System Requirements

Macintosh System Requirements:

Macintosh with a 68030 or higher
Minimum of 16 megabytes of RAM
Macintosh OS 7.6 or greater
Open Transport TCP/IP
Appropriate hardware and routers.

Network System Requirements:

NFS server with the following software:
NFS protocol version 2 or later
PCNFSD version 2 or later (password authentication daemon)
Network Lock Manager version 3 or later
Mount program version 1 or later
A DNS name server compatible with Open Transport is recommended, but not required.
