You can find the current versions and status for Windows Live OneCare features here.

And here you'll find more links to common tasks, including checking for anti-virus updates.

With Live OneCare, your PC is being continually protected with round-the-clock protection and maintenance -- virus scanning, firewalls, tune ups, file backups, the whole nine yards. Best of all, it's delivered to you in a smooth, hassle-free subscription package.
Automatic Health Monitoring and Tune-Ups
Live OneCare continually monitors your computer's health. The Live OneCare health meter gives you a clear, continuous indication of your computer's level of protection and performance. If OneCare detects anything that you can do to improve your computer's health, the service automatically shows you what action to take and gives you a one-click solution.

An automated tune-up function keeps your computer's performance optimized by performing several necessary tasks. Not only does Live One Care automatically scan your computer for viruses -- giving you the ultimate peace of mind -- it also automatically defragments your hard disk to help improve computer efficiency; removes unnecessary files from your computer to increase available hard disk space; checks for changes to your important files as well as new files, then sends you a reminder when it's time to run a back-up; and automatically backs up your files for you if you use an external hard disk.

Continual updates provide you with the latest technology from Microsoft Update to help ensure that your computer is up-to-date with the latest critical security updates from Microsoft. Live OneCare works automatically in the background so that you aren't forced to make sudden, repetitive decisions. For example, the firewall policy is regularly updated to keep ahead of hackers and make sure that your legitimate programs have the Internet access they need, so you don't need to decide which programs to allow or disallow. But if you're worried about a new virus or other threat, you also have the option of checking for updates yourself with a single click.

Better Protection for Small Businesses
Windows Live OneCare helps to protect and maintain work computers, making the managing of workstations easier than ever, thereby giving you more time to deal with the other demands of running your business. Comprehensive, integrated protection for your company's computers includes anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall features to help protect your computers from viruses, spyware, worms, Trojan horses, hackers, and other threats. The trustworthy "Backup and Restore" feature can automatically back-up your important company files, including most accounting files. And with the software's continual updates, your workstations will always have the latest technology you need, including the latest critical security updates from Microsoft.

With a click of the mouse, your employees can directly scan individual files and folders for viruses, and they can even check attachments that you receive through MSN Messenger for viruses or worms. Live OneCare Backup allows you to copy your important files and settings to CDs, DVDs, or to an external hard disk, while regular back-ups can help you protect your important data from loss due to accidental deletion, viruses, or hardware or software failure. If your team relies on an external hard disk, you can configure Windows Live OneCare to perform an automatic back-up of your important data as part of your regular tune-up. Live OneCare also gives you unlimited free support by phone, online chat, or e-mail for any issues with your subscription.

Product Description
Windows Live OneCare is a comprehensive, automatic and self-updating PC care service that continually manages vital computer tasks so consumers can have greater peace of mind about protecting and maintaining their PCs and can spend their time on things they enjoy. The dynamic nature of the Internet and technology can make the protection and maintenance of PCs a challenge for consumers. The vast majority of consumers today are using PCs without basic protection technologies such as anti-virus, anti-spyware or a firewall, or if they have these protections they are not keeping them up to date. Many are also not performing maintenance and performance-enhancing tasks, such as disk defragmentation, or are risking the loss of precious documents or photos because they have no backups of those important files on their PC. Consumers need a simpler, more comprehensive solution to keep their PCs "healthy" than what the marketplace has been able to provide to date. To help meet this need, Microsoft has introduced Windows Live OneCare. Window Live OneCare is a comprehensive, automatic and self-updating PC care service that continually manages vital computer tasks so consumers can have greater peace of mind about protecting and maintaining their PCs and can spend their time on things they enjoy. Windows Live OneCare is a subscription service with the capabilities consumers need to help keep their PCs protected and running well, and provides users with support when they need it at no additional charge.

What is a PC tune-up, and how is it done?
A PC tune-up is pretty much like a tune-up for your car: a series of maintenance tasks to keep it running at optimum speed and efficiency. After installation, Windows Live OneCare will automatically run your first tune-up at 1:00 a.m., then once every four weeks after that. Tune-ups can take a while, and that’s why they’re scheduled for a time when you most likely won’t be using your computer. But that’s your choice. Tune-ups can be done whenever you want.
