Description

3D for Everyone. Developed for the conceptual stages of design, Google SketchUp is a powerful yet easy-to-learn 3D software. It combines a simple, yet robust tool-set with an intelligent drawing system that streamlines and simplifies 3D design. From simple to complex, conceptual to realistic, Google SketchUp enables you to build and modify 3D models quickly and easily. If you use Google Earth, Google SketchUp allows you to place your models using real-world coordinates and share them with the world using the Google 3D Warehouse.

What is Google SketchUp?
Google SketchUp is a deceptively simple, amazingly powerful tool for creating, viewing, and modifying 3D ideas quickly and easily. Google SketchUp was developed to combine the elegance and spontaneity of pencil sketching with the speed and flexibility of today's digital media. Developed for the conceptual stages of design, this powerful yet easy-to-learn software allows for quick and easy 3D form creation, the result is an interface that supports a dynamic, creative exploration of 3D form, material and light. Google SketchUp combines a compact yet robust tool-set with an intelligent guidance system that streamlines the 3D drawing process.

New Features I
- Photo Match - lets you set up a camera view so that the modeling environment matches up with a photograph. You can match an existing model with a background photo, or you can start with a photo and then trace over it in 3D.
- Styles - make it easier than ever to personalize your SketchUp models. A style is simply a saved collection of SketchUp display settings, including two new display features: Watermarks and Sketchy Effects – contained in a single palette. You can quickly create, save, and organize your styles, as well as share style files with others.
- Watermarks - let you place images within your 2D screen space. You can place background watermarks to simulate skies or paper textures behind a model. You can also place overlay watermarks such as logos or other graphics directly on the screen in front of a model. For easy management, Watermarks are part of the new SketchUp Styles system.

New Features II
- Sketchy Effects - renders edges to look as if they were drawn by hand. Sketchy Edges are saved as part of the new SketchUp Styles system, so they can easily be saved as part of a custom display style.
- Fog - allows you to add atmospheric haze to a model.
- 3D text - allows easy creation of signs and letters directly in SketchUp. Choose from simple outlines, filled surfaces and fully extruded 3d text using most fonts on your computer.
- LayOut - will provide simple tools to place, arrange, title and annotate SketchUp models, photographs and other drawing elements to assemble presentation and documentation graphics for both print and screen.

Google SketchUp Pro 6
Google SketchUp Pro 6 is powerful, intuitive 3D modeling software that allows designers and planners to explore, communicate and present complex design concepts. The simple, robust toolset and intelligent drawing system make it easy to create and modify models, while the import/export capability gives you the flexibility and functionality required in a professional workflow. And now, with SketchUp Pro’s LayOut (beta) feature, you can integrate 3D models with 2D elements like photographs, artwork, text, title blocks – even handwritten notes – to create compelling interactive presentations. LayOut (beta) also enables you to output large-format, high-resolution documents. In a single program, SketchUp Pro 6 combines high-quality 2D design tools with the ability to manipulate dimensionally accurate 3D models with CAD-like precision and scale.
