DV Rack HD 2 is direct-to-disk recording and monitoring software to help produce superior quality video from an SD, HDV or HD camera connected to a laptop. Once a shot is recorded to the hard drive, clips are ready to edit in any NLE. DV Rack HD 2 provides a calibrated field monitor to check for video accuracy and various scopes for reviewing quality and continuity. DV Rack HD 2 supports DV, HDV, DVCPro50 and DVCProHD formats.

- Digital Video Recorder(DVR) records directly to an internal or external hard drive. Clips can then be immediately imported into any NLE for editing.
- Instantly Review Clips to ensure you get the shot you want. No more surprises in the edit bay. And it’s much faster than rewinding the tape in your camera.
- Motion-Activated Recording automatically starts recording when motion is detected in a shot. A perfect solution for one-man shoots.
- Stop-Motion Animation Recording allows for easy animation recording of static objects. Record images one frame at a time to a single AVI File.
- Time-Lapse Recording records a single frame at regular time intervals to appear as if time is moving faster. Editors using DV or HD footage can convey the passing of time by recording variant cloudscape motion, crowd movement, or traffic flow.
- Pause Recording enables users to stop in the middle of a recording without creating a new clip. This is especially useful when recording interviews, such as legal depositions.
- Shot Saver guarantees you never miss the beginning of a shot because it pre-records up to 30 seconds before you hit the Record button.
- Clip Alerts decrease the number of fixes required in postproduction by automatically notifying you of problem areas in your video clips.
- Clip Renaming/Resizing/Reordering permits users to change clip names, size, and location within the DVR for more efficient organization and comparing one shot to another.
- ShotClock Timer/Clock counts down or up in video frames, can be calibrated to the atomic clock, and supports 24p (NDF) mode.
- DV Timecode Support has been added for Adobe® Premiere® Pro, Apple® Final Cut Pro®, Sony® Vegas®, and Avid® N
