Propellerhead’s Strings ReFill is a high-quality collection of real orchestral string performances converted into Dr. Rex loops and NN19 sampler patches. The sessions were recorded in Russia’s acoustically perfect Documentary Studio, and include both solo instruments and ensemble material. The REX format allows independent control of tempo and pitch, as well as complete reorganization of the music phrases in Dr. Rex. The REX files are also provided outside of the ReFill for use by any REX-compatible software.

Combine REX and NN19
The combination of Dr.Rex and NN19 material makes Strings more than a great authentic collection—it’s an incredible inspirational starting point. Try using one of the 288 REX loops and add a few choice notes with the NN19 sampler patches and you'll experience a brand new side of Reason. Listen to the demo songs and you will understand what we are talking about. Strings Demo and ReasonStrings are both based on a combination of REX files and NN19 patches whereas Strings Trip and ReMission are both based entirely on NN19 patches. All REX music loops are rhythmic in their character and ideally suited for R&B, pop, rock, hip-hop—or just about any music with a steady beat.

Reason Strings - The Russian Connection
The sessions took place in Documentary Studio, Moscow, originally designed as a cinema for Stalin but acoustically perfect for the purpose of orchestral recordings. A total of 23 musicians were involved in the recording sessions, spanning over 2 weeks and ranging from complete orchestral/quartet string recordings to individual instruments.

Compatibility
The NN19 patches can only be used in Reason but the 288 REX files have been provided in a folder outside the Reason ReFill for use in other compatible applications such as Steinberg's Cubase VST. All loops and sounds can be used license free and as all other Propellerhead products, Strings is both Mac & Windows compatible.
