Windows® 98 Second Edition, Windows ME, Windows 2000 SP3, Windows XP Home or Professional Edition, or later.The latest service packs are recommended.
Encarta® Standard 2006 only supported on Windows 2000 SP4 and Windows XP and later.
128 MB of RAM for Windows 98 Second Edition or Windows ME. 256 MB of RAM for Windows 2000 SP4 or Windows XP Home or Professional Edition. Applications running simultaneously may require additional memory.
1520 MB of available hard disk space for a typical installation. Up to an additional 275 MB of hard disk space may be required on the hard disk where the operating system is installed for Word 2002. A complete install requires minimum of 3.1 GB of hard disk space.

Works Suite includes the Works 8 word processor; however, predefined word processing templates and wizards (such as letter and brochures) in the Task Launcher will use Word 2002. Some features require an Internet connection. Access to and use of the Internet may require payment of a separate fee to an Internet service provider. Local and long-distance telephone toll charges may apply. Some online features require Microsoft Passport Network account.
Windows CE 2.0 and Pocket PC 3.0 with ActiveSync® 3.x or Palm 3.0 compatible device with HotSync 2.0 for synchronization of Works data required.
